Okuribi
The ceremonial "sending off" fires lit at Obon to guide the spirits of the ancestors back to heaven. The Okuribi are often accompanied by fireworks. The most famous Okuribi is Kyoto's Gozan ("five mountain") Okuribi, featuring the Daimonji, literally meaning "the big (dai) character (monji)."
